Updates and Plugins

Word Press is a fantastic resource, and we have just update our installation to 5.1.1. This version has a new editor – if you don’t like it, you can activate the Classic Editor plugin.

Please note: only the WP Super Admins can install plugins and we only use ones created by us, or from the wordpress.org plugin site. This helps decrease the risk to our server. Once a Super Admin decides a requested plugin is safe, it can be installed for activation on various sites. If you would like to see what plugins we have installed, the Lochac Webwright is maintaining a list here.

Some of the plugins that were network activated before the upgrade to WordPress 5.1.1 have been deactivated. They are still available for sites to use, for now, but will need to be reactivated on a per-site basis. If no sites are using them by the end of this reporting cycle (ie, end of May), they will be deleted from the server. The main plugins this applies to are: Counterize (and it’s dependants); Links Page; and Login-Logout.

If you are having any issues with your site, please email the Lochac Webwright as soon as possible.
